Makeup and Skin Care Anti-Haul January 2018

Hi Friends!

I have to admit, I have been loving to watch anti-haul videos on YouTube lately! I love that they provide a different outlook on  certain brands and new item releases. Too often you hear why items are must haves or favorites so its nice to hear why someone is not interested in an item.

I think it is important to weigh pros and cons before completing your purchase, especially when it is so easy to become consumed with new makeup (I know the struggle).

Here are a couple of items that are currently on my anti-haul  list.

  • Glamspin from Taste Beauty

This lip gloss fidget spinner came out awhile ago and I immediately scoffed. I am honestly surprised that Sephora is supporting this item. It just seems like something a child would get from the dollar store. I don’t really understand why this is available in the same store as Pat McGrath? As a grown woman, I would never take “Glamspin” out in public to pop on some lip gloss.

  • Diamond Light Multi-Use Highlighter from Too Faced

This highlighter is just something I am not interested in. I don’t really understand why it came out with their gold collection since its diamond? Haha – I don’t know. This highlighter looks pretty and Too Faced has the best packaging but the reason why I won’t purchase this highlighter is because I don’t think I will get enough use out of it. I like a little more subtle highlight on a day-to-day basis and this one just won’t do it for me. Plus it is kind of expensive – so it’s a pass for me!

  • Private Shadow from Tom Ford

This entire selection of private eyeshadows from Tom Ford is a pass for me. These are individual eyeshadows which include .04 ounces of product for $36. That is absolutely insane. I just can’t.

  • Jet Setting Palette – Gigi Hadid x Maybelline

Jet Setting Palette – Gigi Hadid x Maybelline

This palette just doesn’t excite me! It seems kind of bulky (not jet setter friendly) and overall it doesn’t seem like something I would enjoy getting use out of. The blush and bronzer are so tiny, I don’t know how I would even get my brush in there. Also, $29.99 seems a little steep for Maybelline.  The entire collection doesn’t seem bad, like the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline lipsticks are really pretty but they aren’t at the top of the list right now.

  • Mothership IV Eyeshadow  Palette in Decadence by Pat McGrath

Mothership IV Eyeshadow  Palette in Decadence by Pat McGrath

This palette is actually beautiful. I enjoy the  color selection, it seems more useable than the other Mothership palettes by Pat McGrath but I can’t justify $125 for one eye shadow palette. Although it seems more useable, it’s not something that I could use in my everyday life. First of all they are all shimmery shades, so I would always have to pair it with another palette for matte shades and that’s not something that I am into doing every single day.

  • Glow Job (Radiance-Boosting Glitter  Face Mask) from Too Faced

Glow Job (Radiance-Boosting Glitter  Face Mask) from Too Faced

Last but not least, I will NOT be purchasing the Glow Job Face Mask from Too Faced. I honestly can’t stand the name of this face mask. I will not be putting anything called the Glow Job on my face. The mask itself looks pretty but the name is appalling. I would much rather reach for the #GlitterMask GravityMud Firming Treatment from GLAMGLOW because it’s named normally and pretty.

Overall, I think its okay to not be interested in some items in order to have a curated collection. I want items in my collection that I love and that I enjoy using. I don’t have anything against these brands, these products are just not for me!

Let me know down below which items you won’t be buying and check out my last post: Pan that Palette 2018 Introduction: Modern Renaissance by Anastasia Beverly Hills
