Pan that Palette: Modern Renaissance Update #1

Hi Friends!

Today I wanted to give you all an update on my Pan that Palette challenge. As you may know, I am trying to pan my Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. I do not expect to completely use up this palette by the end of the year – that is not my goal. Instead, I really would just like to hit pan on every shade in this palette.

I always say that this is my favorite palette but if you looked at it, you could hardly tell. I am pretty light handed with my eyeshadow brushes but I want to show this palette love!

I admit that the past couple of months have been a struggle. I feel like I am neglecting my other palettes but at the same time I am enjoying using the Modern Renaissance. I feel like I am getting more and more excited about hitting pan then coming up with different makeup looks.

I am happy that I have managed to find a couple of new looks – even got some compliments on them!

So since my introduction, I have hit pan on Tempera and Golden Ochre! I knew Tempera would be the first one since I already had such a big dip in it. I hit pan on 1/24. Golden Ochre was a bit of a surprise but I found myself digging for the pan and I finally hit it on 2/28. I have also made a decent dip in Raw Sienna since the introduction.

Vermeer is actually quite a beautiful highlight on the face, I am really happy that I have started using that to get some more use out of it. I also have lightly been dusting Cyprus Umber in my eyebrows as well.

I have surprisingly been using RealGar and Love Letter pretty regularly too. I discovered that I really like mixing these two shades with Raw Sienna to kind of tame them down and make them more wearable on an everyday basis.

Unfortunately, I haven’t used Venetian Red, Antique Bronze, or Red Ochre at all. I know these shades are going to be really hard to get through. They make me nervous a little bit.

I think I am going to set some goals before the next update so I can focus in on certain shades instead of going across almost the entire palette. I think this will help keep me motivated during the year. So before the next update, I would like to hit pan on Burnt Orange and Buon Fresco. And I would like to use Red Ochre, Venetian Red, and Antique Bronze at least once!
