I am so excited to have received another Voxbox from Influenster! I think these posts are so fun, mainly because this makeup was sent to me for free but also because it gives me a chance to try new makeup products that I probably wouldn’t haven’t picked for myself otherwise.
This time they sent me two products from Rimmel London. Rimmel London is not a brand that I usually grab for at the drugstore. Not for any particular reason, I just usually don’t hear much about them. The two products that were included in this box was the new Wonder Ombre Holographic Eyeliner and the Scandal-Eyes Curve Alert Mascara.
The packaging was pretty normal. It came in a Rimmel London themed box. I am not really a fan of the graffiti art on the box. Both of these products were protected in the box by black tissue paper which is standard for Influenster.
This campaign is called “Transform Your Eyes!” and it mainly features the new Wonder Ombre eyeliner. This eyeliner retails for $5.49 and includes two sides, a normal black side and a gold shade called “Golden Gaze”. It looks like there are 4 other colors that were released with this collection.
Just like the other Influenster boxes, this one came with a little info card with more information on how to use this eyeliner. On that card, Rimmel suggests using the black side like a normal eyeliner, anywhere that you like to wear it. Then flip the eyeliner and trace over the black shade with the “holographic” tip. I will say that both sides of this eyeliner are really smooth and glide on really well. However, the gold on top of the black doesn’t show up really well. You can obviously tell that there is a unique color there but it almost looks kind of green and it is definitely not holographic. It is not as bright as I would like it. It looks much better on its own!
Although, I think this concept is pretty cool and I do like the quality of the eyeliner, I don’t really wear eyeliner enough to say that this anything I can’t live without. I do think $5.49 is a fair price though so if you wear eyeliner a lot and are interested in different colors than I would recommend this one to you.
The second item that was included in this box was the Scandal-Eyes Curve Alert Mascara. This mascara also retails for $5.49 which I think is an amazing deal for this mascara. It has this large curved wand and the color is extremely black. Applying this mascara is so smooth, and easy. It does require a few coats to bring to the length and curl that I like but nothing too annoying. I really do like this mascara and would recommend it!
Overall, I am so thankful to have received both these items for free and been able to put them to the test. Shout out to Rimmel London and Influenster for sending these to me. I do just want to say that although these products were sent to me for consideration, all opinions are 100% my own after testing both of these items.
