Hi Friends!
So I hauled the Peter Thomas Roth Acne Discovery Kit awhile ago in my January skincare haul and I finally got around to using it! Not only have I tried it though, I have used this discovery kit up completely so I figured it was a good time to share my thoughts!
So this kit has 3 different parts to it:
- 2 oz. / 57 mL Acne Clearing Wash
- 24 x Acne-Clear Invisible Dots
- 2 x Max Complexion Correction Pads

Peter Thomas Roth Acne Discovery Kit
Let’s break down and talk about each component.
Firstly, the Acne-Clear Invisible Dots are an interesting way to treat acne. I did have some large spots on my face and I used the invisible dots several days in a row on them. I didn’t notice any miraculous treatment overnight. I did see a reduction is size and color of my pimples over a few nights but it is hard to say if it was due to the invisible dots or just naturally going away over time. I will say they are completely invisible, even David didn’t notice that I went to bed with anything on my face but that doesn’t matter to me as much as how well they perform.
Moving on to the Max Complexion Correction Pads. So I understand that this is a discovery kit so that is why it only came with 2 correction pads but that isn’t enough to see any results. When rubbing these pads on my face, I did notice some tingling and it felt like it could be doing something but it didn’t really turn into anything. I feel like if I had more then I might see something but I don’t really want to take the chance. The correction pads in the full size range from $40-52. The other thing about these pads is that they smell atrocious. I would be able to handle the smell if they did anything but the smell and lack of performance just makes it a disappointment.
And lastly, is the Acne Clearing Wash. I was surprised by how long a 2 oz. facial wash could last. Again, this facial wash just didn’t really give me a lot of results. I do feel like this facial wash cleaned my face pretty well but I wouldn’t pay extra for this since it didn’t help my ance like it was supposed to. I occasionally did feel some tingling like it was helping my skin but the entire time I was using this, my acne continued to flare up.
Unfortunately, this kit didn’t do much for my skin, it was kind of disappointment. It was only $15 but I would not purchase this kit again nor recommend it to anyone else. Have you tried any of these products or even this kit? What did you think? I would love to know!
