Hi Friends!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day! Today I wanted to talk about the new Beauty Blender Bounce foundation. There has been a LOT of controversy around this foundation and the shade range. If you aren’t up to date on the TEA then let me quickly summarize.
Shortly before this foundation was released, Trendmood1’s Instagram released and image of all of the foundation bottles laid out which represented the full range of shades. This image caused a ton of controversy because of the lack of deep skin toned shades. The majority of shades were light / medium toned which was shocking because of all of the backlash that Tarte faced with their Shape Tape Foundation shade range.
When I was looking on Sephora through all of the shades and it actually seems like they had a bit of diversity. I definitely see the multiple light shades that seem exactly the same and there is room for improvement with the deep shades but I do think the Beauty Blender tried. I think it is unrealistic to launch with 40 perfect shades all the time. I hope customers tell Beauty Blender if there shade is missing so they can go back and create that shade and improve their range.
But putting all of that aside, this foundation retails for $40 and has 32 shades available. This is the first makeup item that Beauty Blender has released so it’s really exciting. I think a foundation was the perfect makeup item to release.
The packaging of this foundation is SO creative! It feels really high-end. I love the glass side but the real creative part is the side that you can dip your Beauty Blender sponge on. When you pump the foundation out, you are supposed to hold it at a 45 degree angle so the foundation comes out on the side of the bottle.
Although I really like the direction that Beauty Blender went in, this can be pretty messy. I don’t like that the foundation can get stuck where the pump “tube” sticks out.
As for the foundation itself, I REALLY like it! Its full coverage, easy to blend. You barely need a little over a pump to cover your whole face. It claims to have a 24 hour wear time but I think it lasts more like 10-14 hours just depending on the day. I personally think that 10 hours is plenty of wear time for my normal days.
Overall, I do really like this foundation. I don’t think you need to spend $40 on a foundation but if you are interested in trying this foundation, you won’t be disappointed. Let me know down below what you think of this foundation and the shade range! I would love to know!
Oh I do remember the whole comment section going crazy on her IG profile đŸ˜‚ But honestly they should’ve known better!
