Hi Friends,
Today I wanted to share my three tips on applying eye cream! I know some of you may be thinking that you are too young to apply eye cream but the sooner you start the better. The skin around your eyes is extremely sensitive and will probably be one of the first things to start showing age in your face.
I know for me, eye makeup is sometimes what I enjoy the most when I am getting ready in the morning. But that means that my eyes get messed with quite a bit. I always wear mascara and we all know how hard it is to get mascara off sometimes and I love wearing eyeshadow which I am sure you could tell from my many eyeshadow palette posts. Wearing eyeshadow can sometimes require a lot of blending and although I try to be as gentle as possible, my eyes are still getting rubbed quite a bit. If you wear eye makeup a lot as well, you should consider wearing an eye cream on a nightly basis. Eye cream will also smooth out the texture of you eyes and make it even easier to wear makeup!
So let’s just jump into it.
Tip #1: Don’t get too close to your eyes
Now this may seem like an obvious one but trust me I have made this mistake too many times to admit. When applying eye cream, the point is to cover the skin around your eyelids not your eye line or eyeballs. It is important to find an eye cream that doesn’t bother or irritate your eyes but it is also important to keep it far enough away from actually getting in your eye.
Tip #2: Use your ring finger
Like I mentioned above, the skin around your eyes is very sensitive and thin. Using your ring finger allows you to be a little bit more gentle to that skin. Your ring finger is the lightest finger to effectively apply eye cream.
Tip #3: Dot around your eyes
When applying eye creams, you should take a dot or however much you need on each of your ring fingers and dot it around the bottom of your eye. Dot it and then gently press it into your skin on both the bottom and the orbital bone around your eyes. Do not rub and smear it around. This will help reduce any premature wrinkles that could form around your eyes.
Well, that is about it for me today! I hope you found this post helpful! Let me know what your favorite eye cream is down below. I would love to know!
Great tips!
