Hi Friends!
Today, I wanted to talk about the Nourishing Cleansing Balm from Pixi! I have had this balm for a little over a month and have almost used it up so I wanted to sneak in my review before it was all completely gone. Pixi is one of those brands that really intrigues me – I haven’t tried much from them but they have a lot of products that I want to try. I usually spot them in Target and look at some of there items but don’t end up purchasing them because they are kind of expensive! I picked this up at TJ MAXX or Marshalls for like $8 but it looks like it retails for $20 normally.
I was instantly drawn to this because of the packaging! I love the mint green and gold accents that this jar has. And I am obsessed with trying new cleansers. I did a post a while ago on my cleanser obsession which was before I had this cleansing balm. I do a double cleanse at night which is essentially a balm or oil cleanser like this one and then a water based cleanser.
Balm cleansers like the Pixi Skintreats one are great at taking off makeup and that is why I use 2 cleansers at night. One is to take off my makeup and one is to actually clean and nourish my skin.
Pixi claims that this cleanser is a “gentle cleansing balm [that] comforts as it deep cleans and nourishes, melting away makeup for silky soft skin and a glowing complexion. Packed with nutrient-rich oils & butters to moisture. For all skin types.”
They also say to use this in the morning and evening on a daily basis which is unnecessary to me. I don’t recommend using this cleanser by itself! This balm is a very thick formula and it clings to the skin. I made the mistake one time of just rubbing on some right before the shower and it was so difficult to get off! You really need a cloth to rub all of it off your face, otherwise it takes way too long.
I think this cleanser is great at removing makeup like I mentioned above. It really does melt it off and you hardly need any each time. It feels really nice on the skin, and its been completely safe on my eyes. Because I wear a lot of eyeshadow, that is primarily where I need to take off makeup so its really important that a cleanser doesn’t bother my eyes.
I also like that Pixi has some skin benefits in this cleanser:
- Sweet Almond Oil: Essential minerals & healthy fats
- Cocoa Butter: Antioxidant-rich & healing
- Shea butter: Nourishes deeply
So overall, I really do like this cleanser! I would definitely purchase it again for $8. Just remember that you will need a wash cloth to wipe off since it’s a super thick formula! Let me know down below what your favorite cleanser is! I would love to know!
