Beauty Blender: Sweet Surprise Mystery Blind Bag Unboxing and Review!

Beauty Blender came out with a cute mystery bag bundle this year for holiday and I couldn’t resist picking one up during the Sephora VIB Sale! The Beauty Blender sponges are expensive so any chance to get them during a sale or in a value set, I have to take it!

This particular set included a blender cleanser solid bar and a mystery color Beauty Blender for $20! A normal Beauty Blender sponge costs $20 so you are essentially getting the blender cleanser for free! Plus during the sale, the whole set was only $16!

The Sweet Surprise Mystery Blind Bag is a pretty cute idea! I have only had bought one other Beauty Blender and it is the original pink one. Although, they are expensive, they do last a long time so I really haven’t needed to buy a new one yet!

The Colors

So there are 4 options of Beauty Blenders in this set and the have the following probabilities:

1. Original (pink) – 11/24 chance
2. Joy (yellow) – 6/24 chance
3. Chill (green) – 6/24 chance
4. Mystery color – 1/24 chance

So out of the 4 colors that you could receive, I am really hoping for the yellow one just because it is my favorite color! I also really would like the Chill or Mystery colored one just because I already have the pink one.

The Reveal

The first thing that you pull out of the box is this small little baggie that is covered with colorful sprinkles. I pulled out the BlenderCleanser Solid Swirl cleanser first. It seems like the pink swirl cleanser is included in all of the Mystery Bags. Only the blender is actually different.

What color do you think I got?? 

ANDDD…. I got the Joy / YELLOW one!! YAY! I am actually really happy with this little box. I am really glad I didn’t just receive the normal pink one. Although, when it comes down to it, no matter what color you get, they all perform the same way! You are still just getting a Beauty Blender.

My Review

I have already mentioned this but I really like the Beauty Blenders. They have the perfect density so they don’t soak up a lot of product and they blend foundation out beautifully. They are REALLY expensive and I do think there are comparable blenders out there that are less expensive. However, I have been using my Beauty Blender for awhile and it honestly still feels brand new. I do think that it will last longer than other makeup sponges out there. But does that make it worth $20? I don’t know.

Because this set includes a blender cleanser and I bought it on sale, definitely makes it more reasonable.

The BlenderCleanser Solid Swirl is great! I tested it with my pink Beauty Blender and it nearly got it back to the original pink color. It definitely took a lot of foundation and concealer out of the sponge though. My issue with this cleanser is that I don’t really know how to store it? It is obviously wet when you are done using it and I don’t want to just leave it on my counter to let it dry. For right now, I have just put it in a zip lock baggie so I hope that will be okay. But overall, I think it is a pretty good cleanser! I think I would rather purchase the cleansing liquid just because it will be easier to store and use but the solid cleanser works really well.

Do you have any tips for me on how to store the Blender Cleanser Solid Swirl? I would really appreciate any help I could get! Also let me know what you think about the Beauty Blender! Have you tried it? Do you have a more affordable favorite? I would love to know!
