Hi Friends!
Influenster was kind enough to send me another free VoxBox! This time, I received the StriVectin S.T.A.R Light Retinol Night Oil. They call is S.T.A.R. because it is a “Skin Transforming Advanced Retinol.” I have never tried StriVectin until this facial oil but I have seen it at Marshalls and TJ MAXX before. I didn’t really realize it was just a high end skincare brand until I was researching them for this post. I was surprised to learn that this facial oil retails for $99!
First Impressions
The packaging isn’t super luxurious but it is nice! The outer packaging is a dark maroon shade and there is a lot of information on the box. The bottle itself is silver with a red bottom. I know retionol is sensitive to light but it seems like the bottle is pretty opaque. The dropper is pretty solid – it releases a perfect amount of product when squeezed.
The oil itself is orange but it does blend in so it appears clear on the skin. It isn’t a thick formula but its not particularly watery either. It does have a REALLY nice scent. It smells naturally floral and clean.
Benefits & Claims
This oil is a “retinol power without irritation in a nourishing, ultra-lightweight, dry finish oil.”
StriVectin claims that the STAR Light Retinol Night Oil will do the following:
- Corrects the look of fine lines, wrinkles, texture, and uneven tone
- Moisturizes & replenishes skin with plant-derived Squalane & Chia Seed oils
- Soothes & protects dry skin with powerhouse antioxidants Astaxanthin & Pro-anthocyanidins
- Absorbs in a flash with a non-greasy finish
Overall, it is a retinol serum that is supposed to help with wrinkles and fine lines. They call retinol the golden standard of anti-aging ingredients.
How to Use
- Apply 1 to 3 drops to clean face nightly, before or mixed in with your normal moisturizer.
- Rub into skin until the oil is dispersed over your face. You should see the color of the oil transform from orange to clear upon application to the skin.
StriVectin also recommends avoiding sunlight while wearing this facial oil and not fixing this oil with any other retinol products.
My Review
So far I have been really enjoying this facial oil! It feels really nice and hydrating on the skin. I also like that it is an all natural product. I think it is never too early to start anti-aging products but I haven’t really seen a difference in my skin since I started using this oil. That does not mean that it isn’t doing anything for my skin though. I am only 25 so I don’t have a lot of wrinkles but of course I will keep using this every night just to avoid as many wrinkles as possible.
Even though I haven’t seen a different on my skin, I am still enjoying using this facial oil! I think it is a really beautiful product. I am so thankful to have been sent this from Influenster!
