Hi Friends!
I have a crazy challenge for myself in 2019! This past year I did a Pan That Palette challenge with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette and although I really enjoyed using that palette all year long, it was also really hard. I hit my goal of hitting pan in every single shade of the Modern Renaissance but I also missed using all of my other eyeshadow palettes.
So my challenge in 2019 will be to hit pan in 19 shadows in 19 different palettes! In 2018, I hit pan on 18 eyeshadows so I think 19 shadows is completely doable! Don’t get me wrong, it will be challenging but I am ready to take on the challenge. I love getting use out of my collection and I love seeing pan!
For this introduction and to start this project out in January, I am going to start with 3 palettes. As I make progress on those 3 palettes and need to roll something else in, I will do an update! (I hope that makes sense!)
Without further ado, here are 3 of the palettes that I want to hit pan on!
Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette
The first palette that I am bringing into this project is the Huda Beauty Mauve Obsessions Palette. I don’t have a lot of use in this palette so I think hitting pan on one of the shades will be pretty challenging. I think I am going to try to hit pan on the 6th shade in the palette which is a pretty pink matte shade. It is similar to the tones of the New Nude palette which I ABSOLUTELY love. I have had the palette for awhile so it is time to get my use from it!
Maybelline Soda Pop Palette
The Maybelline Soda Pop palette is one of the best eyeshadow palette releases of 2018! It is so affordable but also completely up with the trends! One of my favorite shades in the palette is Soda Fizz. It is a shimmery taupe shade and its GORGEOUS! I think it will be pretty easy to hit pan!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Palette
I am obsessed with ABH eyeshadows but I don’t reach for Subculture all too often. It is a little difficult to work with but I do still really like it. I think I am a little intimidated by the color story though. These aren’t shades that I reach for regularly. I am not 100% sure which shade I am going to attempt to hit pan on. It might be Dawn or Roxy or something a bit harder. David wants me to pick Rowdy or Axis which might be too hard!
Those are my 3 palettes that I am starting with! I think this will be a good approach to my “pan that palette” project this year! I want to get use out of a bunch of palettes this year instead of just focusing on one. This will also let me test new palettes and not put too much pressure on myself to keep using the same on over and over again!
I am definitely excited to see how this project goes and I hope you stay tuned! Let me know down below which palettes I should pull out for this project. Also let me know if you are doing a pan that palette 2019?! I would love to know!
This is a GREAT Project Pan idea – it reminds of some of the challenges that Elle S. does on YouTube. I completely agree with you about Pan that Palette interfering with the ability to play with other palettes (I was lamenting about the same thing in the PTP Finale Post I started drafting last week!)
Good luck on this challenge!

Thank you!! I didn’t come up with this concept at all, I saw some other people post 19 in 2019 challenge. Definitely inspired by Elle S, I love her panning projects. I am excited to see how this one goes! Can’t wait to read your post!

I love rowdy, it’s my favorite shade from that palette! I love using it instead of black, I feel like it’s less intense and adds another layer of dimension. I’ve never hit the pan on any color of any palette ever!! This is something I need to make a goal lol

I prefer darker colors to deepen up the crease (vs. black) as well! I have used Rowdy to deepen up the outer corner a couple of times in the past week and really liked it! It looks really good with New Wave. Hitting pan is SOOO satisfying! I think you should definitely make that a goal!

I love this idea! I’m trying to save money, so I’m on a serious makeup buying hiatus until I start hitting pan on the many items I already have. Good luck to you!

Thank you!! Yeah.. I feel like I haven’t gotten enough use from any of my palettes. I just want to see them used. And if I see use, I won’t feel as bad about buying new things.
