Hi Friends!
I am FINALLY reviewing the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Alien eyeshadow palette! I bought this palette back in January because I just couldn’t resist it any longer. This is actually the first palette that I own from Jeffree Star Cosmetics so I am super excited to share my thoughts!
The Alien palette is pretty expensive, it retails for $52 and comes with 18 shades. Out of the 18 shades, 7 are shimmery and 11 are matte. The formula is vegan and cruelty free as well!
The Packaging
Jeffree went ALL OUT for the Alien packaging. Even with the outer packaging artwork is a beautiful purple galaxy! I am seriously in LOVE with how unique this palette is. It is in the shape of an alien (of course) however it is still pretty think. The outside is made of a pink faux leather and then there is white print to show the name and the Jeffree Star Cosmetics logo.
The eyes are what really stand out on this palette (literally)! The alien eyes are domed so they add a 3D vibe to this palette. I think its really cool!
This palette does come with a mirror however it is kind of difficult to use because of the palette shape and weight. If you are holding up the mirror, the bottom of the palette is kind of in the way. But overall, I really do like the packaging!
The Shades & Swatches
Jeffree Star’s palette always have the Jeffree Star logo imprinted on them but in this palette there are also a couple of unique imprints. Flying Saucer has a UFO that is beaming up a human and X-Files has an alien face on it! I LOVE the details!
Pluto – This is a shimmery icy white shade. (It is a beautiful inner corner highlight)!
Titan – This is a matte cream shade.
Alien – Of course, Alien is a bright green shimmery shade!
Interstellar – One of my favorite shades in the palette is this shimmery champagne shadow! Its beautiful all over the lid with really any shade in this palette.
Abduction – This is a chartreuse yellow / green matte shade. Really unique and fun shade!
UFO – This is a BEAUTIFUL golden sparkly shimmer shade.
Gravitea – You notice how this shade is spelt? This is a soft peach matte shade.
Martian Soil – This is a mustard yellow matte shade.
Flying Saucer – This is a teal green matte shade.
Phone Home – This is a pretty pink matte shade.
Moon Rock – Another beautiful shimmer is this golden black forest shadow. It’s really unqiue.
X-Files – This shade is my obsession! This is a cool toned dark taupe matte shade.
Ghost OG – This is a dark grey matte shade.
Area 51 – This is a deep true Barney purple matte shade.
Space Cowboy – This is a metallic chocolate brown shimmer shadow.
Probe – The last shimmer shade of the palette is this metallic dark with a teal shift.
Tall Grey – This is a light grey matte shade, totally the shade of a traditional alien!
Black Hole – And finally, the last shade in the palette is this black matte shadow. Definitely fits the name Black Hole!
My Review
Guys, I LOVE this palette. I didn’t realize that I would love it so much but it is a really uniqueand inspiringpalette. I feel like every time that I opened this palette, I was excited to create something new. I fell in love with Interstellar, X-Files, Phone Home, Moon Rock, Martian Soil… literally so many shades that are just BEAUTIFUL!
The quality is also OUT OF THIS WORLD (LOL)! The only shade that wasn’t absolutely amazing was Area 51 and I think it is just because purples are hard to formulate. It felt pretty dry though.
It is hard to say if this palette is worth $52 though. I think if you are really interested in this palette then you won’t be disappointed but I also don’t want to pretend like you need this palette. Its only makeup so you absolutely don’t need it.
But on the other hand, this palette is AMAZING! I am so happy that I finally tried Jeffree Star Cosmetics and picked this palette as my introduction to the brand! I am definitely going to be getting a lot of use out of the Alien palette this year!
Let me know down below what you think of this palette! Do you have any of Jeffree Star Cosmetics palettes? I would LOVE to know!
Yay! Great review and swatches! You need Blood Sugar next!! I didn’t think I would be as crazy about it as I am!

I have Blood Sugar!!! I bought it at the same time as the Alien palette, I just haven’t dug into it yet. I have too many palettes….

I have way too many palettes, trust me! But I was surprised how many “everyday” low key looks I could make with Blood Sugar. I fixated on the reds at first but there are a ton of neutral-y colors that aren’t just brown!

The colors look amazing. He has a lot of products that appeal to me, but I guess I’m just scared of him and his products, because of all the drama he has with women of color.

Yeah, I totally understand that. I was hesitant about that as well but I also believe that people can change and as lame as it sounds the series that Jeffree Star did with Shane Dawson really made me see him in a different light. What he said in the past was NOT OK and nothing will ever make it right. But I do believe in forgiveness.

I thought this palette was so beautiful, those colors! But yeah it was a bit pricey for me, and I don’t really use bold colors M-F at the office so I couldn’t justify getting it, unfortunately.

Totally understand! I don’t really use bold colors during the week either. Sometimes for just a small pop but I have to keep it pretty tame.
