Hi Friends!
You should know by now that I am completely obsessed Anastasia Beverly Hills (especially their eyeshadows)! I COULD NOT resist picking up the Sunset and the Daytime quads that they recently released.
Last week I reviewed the Anastasia Beverly Hills Sunset Quad and now it is time to share my thoughts on the Daytime Quad! I have to admit, out of the two quads, I was instantly attracted to the Sunset quad because its so unique! However, the Daytime quad contains more everyday shades.
This palette retails for $32 for 4 single eyeshadows and then of course it comes with the little quad palette to store the shadows.
The Packaging
The packaging is so fun for this little quad. The outside box has a sunrise ombre affect. And then there are ADORABLE metallic gold palm trees on the outside box and in the quad! The lid of the quad is clear so you can see the colors of the shades. I like that you can pop in the eyeshadows so you can mix it up if you want. It’s a really compact and travel friendly palette. Overall, I really like this little palette.
Shades & Swatches
Sunny – This is a metallic bright yellow shade! Its so SUNNY and beautiful!
Sand Castle – This is a sandy tan / burlap matte shade. This is a really nice transition shade for many different shadows, even outside of this quad. It is a little darker than it appears in the pan but I still really enjoy this shade.
Papaya – This is a warm orange / red matte shade. Papaya also makes a great transition shade if you are going for a warm eyeshadow look.
Rose Quartz – This is a GORGEOUS rose quartz metallic shadow (exactly as the name suggests). This is my favorite metallic in the palette because it is a little more subtle on the eyelid than sunny. It also is a pretty unique shade!
My Review
Soo… these shades are REALLY NICE! All of them perform really well, Sand Castle and Papaya blend like a dream and Sunny and Rose Quartz are SO metallic and bright. They all look beautiful on the eyes.
I think what is missing from this palette is a darker shade to deepen out the outer corner. I found myself a little frustrated after I put on the transition shade and the lid shade and not having something else to complete the eye look.
But don’t get me wrong, I really enjoy these eyeshadows. I can always pull a darker shade from another palette or just keep it simple. I don’t think you need to run out and buy this quad but I do think it is a great introduction to ABH eyeshadows. The quality is definitely there and because these shades are so wearable, you will get a lot of use out of them!
Let me know down below if you bought the Daytime or the Sunset quads? What do you think of them? Do you have anything else from ABH? I WOULD LOVE to know!!
