Pan that Palette: Modern Renaissance Update #4

Hi Friends!

I can’t believe we are on the 4th update for this year’s Pan that Palette. If you aren’t aware at this point, I have chosen to pan the Modern Renaissance Palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills this year. A lot of people have different goals when they select a Pan that Palette challenge but my goal is just to hit pan in every single shade in the palette. I know that may sound fairly easy compared to what other beauty bloggers / YouTubers are able to do but TRUST ME, its actually been quite the challenge.

As of last update, I had hit pan on 8 shades. Those shades were Tempera, Golden Ochre, Vermeer, Buon Fresco, Love Letter, Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, and Primavera. When I posted the last update, it was a little into July so we were just ahead of schedule for this palette.

I was hesitant to set any goals for this update / over the past 2 months because I did a mini project pan in July which included the Naked Heat Petite palette. I ended up not using that Naked Heat palette as much as I wanted to because I felt like some of the shades in there would have conflicted with the shades in this palette. Mainly Real Gar. But with that being said, they did make good companion palettes.

My only real goal for the past couple of months was to focus more on Real Gar and Red Ochre since they hadn’t been used much the entire year and I DEFINITELY did that!

Modern Renaissance – Update #4

I have hit pan on THREE new shades and I have made great progress on the remaining shades in this palette! I hit pan on Venetian Red, Cyprus Umber, and Real Gar! I literally can’t believe I made that much progress since the last update. I have been using this palette like crazy. I also made good dents in Red Ochre, Warm Taupe, and Antique Bronze.

I have had a few low points over the past couple of months with this palette. And its not because of the palette but I just want to be using other things. I feel kind of restricted to this palette because I do want to hit my goals at the end of the year but its really hard. I have been trying to incorporate some other palettes with using this one but I notice that this one still tends to dominate my eye looks.

I am seriously considering not doing a Pan that Palette challenge next year just because this one is getting so hard. I do still enjoy all of these shades but I feel like I am forcing myself to use them instead of reaching for them because I want to.

Well, that is it for me today! I hope you all enjoyed this update. Let me know down below if you are panning a palette this year. I would love to check it out!

    • Yeah, I agree with you! I am really glad I tried it though, its nice to see progress on something I really do love. But I definitely wouldn’t have reached for it SO many times without this project.
