Herbivore: True Blue Skin Clarifying Duo Review

Hi Friends!

Today I wanted to share my thoughts on the Herbivore True Blue Skin Clarifying Duo set. You may recall but I hauled this in my first haul, Sephora Skin Care Haul, back in January! This set retails for $29 however the value is around $50.

There are two items that are included in this set which are a 1 oz Blue Tansy AHA + BHA Resurfacing Clarity Mask and a .3 oz Lapis Balancing Facial Oil.

This set claims to be good for oily, combination, or blemish prone skin. It claims to be “clarifying, resurfacing, and soothing to clear blemished, smooth, and generally improve skin naturally.”

I have completely USED up BOTH of these items. However, there is a reason why I used these products all the way up before I could share my thoughts. I wanted to give them the full run before I concluded anything but unfortunately, my lasting opinion is the same as my opinion throughout the entire time of using them. These products do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

I know this is kind of a spoil alert for this most but I think the performance is the most important thing. Especially when it comes to acne skincare. I need results! Otherwise, I am just wasting my time using up these products and not using something that could actually be working for my skin.

I will say that the Lapis Oil felt very luxurious. I used it every single night and sometimes in the morning and I really wanted it to work. This may not have been enough product to see full results but if that is the case then you need to include more in your bundles and charge more. Don’t give me a product that won’t be enough to see results.

I got a lot of use out of the Blue Tansy resurfacing Clarity Mask but much to my despair. Once on, the mask did feel really cooling and firming which was nice because it actually felt like it was working (even though it wasn’t). However, there are two annoying things about this mask. One, it slightly stains your skin blue. The stain does come off but only after scrubbing pretty hard. And two, this mask is so hard to take off.  It is so gel like, it just becomes so slippery when trying to take it off. It just is such a hassle.

They also both have this strong, potent smell. It definitely isn’t the best smell but its not a huge deal to me but wanted to mention it just in case someone is more sensitive to smells than I am.

Before I wrap this review up, I do want to say that everyone’s skin is different so although this set didn’t work for me it could work for you! If you really want to try this set then I would suggest buying it from Sephora so you can’t return it if it doesn’t work for you.

That is it for me today! Let me know if you have tried this set or any of the items in this set and what your thoughts are! I would love to know!!
